Spiritual Formation

Through the Arts!

Art is a powerful mechanism for spiritual exploration- and we are a creative, artistic congregation!

Music is a central feature in our worship services and programming. Theater, comedy improv workshops, embodied rituals, visual art exhibits, poetry readings and more! We embrace both ancient and modern voices, classical and contemporary approaches. Joining any of our arts programs can be a fun and meaningful way for adults, youth, and children to get involved in the life of a congregation.

The Adult Choir

Music is a vital part of worship and community life at UUSGS, and our adult choir is a center piece of our musical program. Under the direction of Elisabeth Weber, this group is comprised of approximately thirty-five professional and amateur singers from age 15 to 80. The adult choir rehearses weekly and offers anthems during worship throughout the year as well as a full music service with guest orchestral accompaniment twice annually. Elisabeth is a classically trained organist with a passion for community theater and enjoys working with people of diverse levels of ability and experience.

MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE

Children & Youth Choirs

UUSGS offers two choirs for children and youth. Joyful Noise is our youth choir which includes ages 12 to 15 years old. We also offer a Children’s Choir for grade-school children as well. Children and youth choirs offer anthems during Sunday worship and take part outside UUSGS in interfaith worship experiences and community music events.

Our Youth and Children’s Choir offers elementary through high schoolers the opportunity to experience themselves as music-makers, as peacemakers, and as collaborative visionaries and creative worship leaders.

Meets weekly - See calendar for details
