UUSGS is hiring a part-time Executive Director…

Are you a professional with business development and/or management experience looking for a part-time job where you can really make a difference?  Do you know someone who fits this description?

The Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield (UUSGS) is a progressive religious community committed to social justice and spiritual growth. We are a celebrating, artistic, and inclusive community committed to valuing all people just as they are… and we are working together, within and beyond our walls, for a Pioneer Valley that does the same.

UUSGS is growing, and we are hiring a part-time Executive Director.  Successful candidates for this position will: be passionate about progressive values, have a track record of administrative leadership, and must enjoy working with people.  Experience with finance and/or budgets required; development and fundraising experience preferred; account management experience may also be valuable.  This would be a great opportunity for a graduate student in non-profit management or a related field, or for someone with great experience who values a part-time schedule with some flexibility.

The part-time Executive Director (ED) reports directly to the Minister, who functions also as chief of staff.  The ED’s portfolio includes: administration of facilities and finances, rentals, and fundraising.  The ED supervises a part-time Bookkeeper, Facility Management staff and vendors, and related volunteer teams.

We offer a work environment that values creativity, equality, and collaboration.  Average hours are 20 per week, with growth potential; reduced summer hours are available.  Some schedule flexibility is possible, but regular office hours are expected. Annual salary of $20,000, plus 10% professional expenses ($2,000) and 10% pension contribution benefit after one year of employment.

UUSGS is committed to fair compensation and is an equal opportunity employer.  The congregation is intentionally anti-racist and welcoming of GLBTQ identities.

Qualified applicants are invited to send a resume and cover letter to Rev. Jason Seymour:
